In 2019 I was working in construction, out of town, & away from my family.
One night after coming home again to my kids being asleep.. I decided something had to change.
I spent my evenings and weekends in solace. Blocking out the world, and learning how to code through free online resources like Udemy, YouTube, and other creators.
After building some projects for myself in Flutter, I decided to start freelancing. Fast forward to 2021 and I had finally gotten my breakthrough - my first Software Engineering job as an iOS Engineer.
I had the best start in tech you could ever ask for, and through a fast paced apprenticeship program, sheer grit, and a commitment to better myself and master iOS development.. I had learned from the best mentors you could ever ask for as a junior engineer.
Despite being a top performer, I along with around 20% of the company.. got laid off due to the economy.
After several months, hundreds of applications, and several interviews.. I landed another job as an iOS Engineer. "Hooray!".. or so I thought.
Once again, I was impacted by the economy... only 3 months later.
After that, I decided to make another change, and become my own boss.
Now I spend my days as a contractor, indie developer, and content creator.. helping businesses and individuals plan, build, and launch successful mobile apps
